No not me, SWMBO & I had to take our 6 year old Siberian Husky Shelby to the vet hospital to have a knee operation tomorrow. :(. I am VERY depressed. :(

I sympathize with you there. Dogs are cool, but, man, they definitely become part of the family. Lost our 9 yr full blood Shih Tzu, Ginger, in July. That hurt a lot. Had the greatest personality, never met a stranger and was a fun little ball of fur. At least you'll be able to have your's come home soon.

Don't worry too much. Our second guide dog watson we paid for one hip replacement for him. He was 9 month old at the time and had spent the last month in a sling with his leg dislocated (the dysplasia was sooo bad). He now has a titanium hip and is totally normal and fine. You can't tell he's ever had that hip bad. His other hip is still barely in socket and gives him some trouble. But we don't have another $6k to spend on another operation, plus its not really needed to suit his lifestyle (i.e. playing for an hour or two a day and sleeping on the couch the rest of it.

My sister even video taped the entire surgery (she's a vet tech).

I'm glad you're going throught with the surgery though! Lets us know how it turns out!

Bummer. We've got two Germand Shepards and we take them with us everywhere. We even had our annual portrait taken with them!

Our family dog had a run in with a car and messed up both his knees... Major bummer seein' him try and sit down, and then stand up takin' like 10 seconds each time... walking with like 3 legs because one hurt all the time...

So we got him the knee surgery... Holy cow... he's up and down and all around... pulling on his leash and everything... he's getting better, and it has been... less than a month I think since he had it...

Here's a pic of his cast he had to wear... yeah, his buds wrote on it...

Here's a pic of his scar... the chicks dig it.

No worries, quick procedure... you just won't have 'em around for a day or two.

Bummer! We have a Siberian Husky as well. Kodiak. We, too, just took her in to the vet. She's 5. Has been having epileptic seizures for the last four years. Only one seizure per year, so the vet said not to do anything yet. Now, she's had 3 more since August. Looks like we have to start her on medication. Hate to do it, as it's not good for her liver, but it needs to be done.

BTW, this is our second Husky. We love'em.

What's the knee operation for?

Anyway, I hope all goes well.
