Gonna try to give as much info as possible so bear with me.
69 fastback 351W .030, Performer RPM heads/intake, mid length headers. Engjne is freshly rebuilt, about 800 miles. I converted to EFI using the Aces Killshot. After working out a few issues the killshot worked pretty good but had to give it some pedal on cold starts and was getting a few small backfires on decel. Got it tuned by a local tuner but I forgot the cable so he did the best he could with the handheld and told me to bring it back with the cable and he’d adjust it better for little to nothing. He also said to change the plugs cuz it was starting to misfire on the top end. After getting it back, cold starts have been great but hot/warm starts are now like cold starts were. Other than that, running pretty good. I pulled the plugs. 5 were white, 2 were brown, 1 was white/tan. Research said go to a colder plug which I just finished doing.
Doing More research I found a guy that is THE remote tuner on Aces stuff. Through email he said that the plugs were likely not the issue on the top end. He said he sees this wil the Aces distributor a lot and suggested the Progression ignition, or at least an HEI or MSD. I’ve read stuff on here about how good the progression is so am considering that. Looking at the instructions page on their website, it doesn’t explain really how to install it. Is it basically the same as any other distributor as far as finding TDC on the compression stroke on cylinder 1 and pointing the rotor towards it?
