How do you fix a stuck float. Carb is a holly brawler 600 and it is the secondary float that is stuck. Besides tapping on it do you just take the float bowl off and wipe it out. Not sure were stuff sticks to. That causes this. Carb has a few hundred miles on it.

You could try and free it by loosening the float adjuster and turn it up and down a little and see if that frees it up. Otherwise, just take the bowl off. As far as what causes it to stick, I think the most common reason is due to the carb sitting for a period of time with no use. The other reason could be dirt / debris. If you suspect dirt it would be best to remove the bowl and check.

I had a stuck float on a Holley 600. It turned out to be a metal sliver that was caught in the needle assembly and not allowing it and the float to work properly. Only place I could figure it came from was a bit of debris left over when the transfer tube was manufactured. I wouldn't have found it if I hadn't taken the bowl off and checked everything.
