So, after dailying my 67 for about 2 weeks now, I have come to the conclusion, 3 gears is not enough anymore. I was going to wait until I put my 302 in before I put in a t5. But I wanted to know what all I would need to buy, and the process of changing my 3 speed out with a t5 and bolting it up to my inline 6 that I have currently. I probably wont have the 302 put in for another year or 2. So I want to know if the money spent on the parts to adapt a t5 to the inline 6 would be worth it. IF any of you have put a t5 to a inline 6. Let know everything I would need to do this swap. Send links to parts if possible

Have not done. I'm sure someone that has will come along.
My suspicion is that there might be a bellhousing to trans adapter situation that may not be the same......
Modern Driveline would know and be able to tell you whether what you plan to do is viable. That's another option.

Is a T5 worth it behind an I6? Certainly, it gives better fuel mileage and changes the entire way an I6 drives. Is it worth it to spend extra money just to have the 5 speed a couple years early? Well, that is a question only you can answer. I suspect the guys over on FordSix are the best people to ask:

There are so many things that are needed when going V8 that I would do them overtime anyway so a T5 would be a good starting point, then rear, then front suspension, then engine.
Any of the I6 specific T5 parts you should be able to sell for at least half $ when you are done with them.

If you are already running a manual 3sp then it's too easy and really not very expensive at all. Its when you are going V8...5 lug...T-5...new clutch, fly..etc. etc. that it starts to add up. I just did an entire i6 spd man. to 302 T-5 swap in my 67.

Seem to me all you need is a t 5 adaptor to your current bellhouseing if it's the large top loader type 3 speed . Then your driveshaft.

The v8 swap is going to take a lot more than that ,plus I don't know why you could or would not use the t5 behind the v8.

Have'nt tried it my self but I hope to have a 66 Ranchero in the near future & plan on takeing the 200 6 cyl from my 66 Mustang along with the T5 I have & put in it.

Can't be that hard.

Of your car is already a manual all you needed is a trans adapter plate and a driveshaft

cluch, pilot bearing, throughout bearing, flywheel resurfacing, rear main, trans rebuild, z bar bushings and spring bushings, shifters, are all recommended but it’s how good your stuff already is and how much money you want to spend it never ends
Before I change my 2.80 gears I can go 90 mph at 2.5krpm
