25 years ago this month, Chicago radio D.J Steve Dahl hosted "Disco Demolition" at Comiskey Park where the White Sox played. During the middle of the double header game Steve came out and showed the crowd his dis-satisfaction with Disco.
Some may recall, the 2nd game got cancelled due to the crowd becoming overly unruly when the disco albums blew up over 2nd base. And Disco sort of died right after that.

Gee, maybe Steve could do this for the Eleanor haters among us.......

... or for the Eleanor's themself!
I'd gladly take a Smellanore (I'd even consider paying a little for it) and remove all the fiberglass and put it back to stock, or at least to a truly unique (not Unique Performance) restomod.

IIRC Chip Foose designed the original (GISS 2000) Eleanor. The car was neat looking, but when they turn into belly buttons (everybody's got one) they're no longer cool. In this case, they just plain suck. The only reason I don't support the destruction of all Eleanors is because underneath all that greed of the people cranking them out is a 67 or 68 fastback waiting to be unleashed.

If they just didn't have those astoundingly ugly hoods on them they would be ok. :) JMO

Yea, I wish he would do it to the Eleanor Haters, too.

Yes, I agree w/ JSHarvey -- hood is butt-ugly on these cars. It is just a hump which serves no purpose.
On mine it is needed for the blower cap on the 427FE. Agreed though, not the best looking hood.

Just a little FYI there are actually 3 different hood/scoop heights.
The large one everyone keeps referring to is for a reason, its only for the Supersnake as needed for clearance for the supercharger canopy for the 428.
There are only 50 of these hoods being made by UP for the SS only. The movie car is the small original version also needed for clearance for a Paxton canopy. The new UP body kit now has a scoop in between these two heights.

Im not a big fan of eleanor, I think its the hood??? besides that its ok.. the way i look at it is that weather we hate it or love it,, it has made an impact on quit a few people, as a person that would love nothing more than to be able to hone his skills and be concidered "a car guy" weather you hate it or love it the builder only cares that you have an opinion, he made his point.. let eleanor be what it is, a car that was an idea of one man, and he built it..like it or not respect it....after all how many of us here would like to have a car we built get the comparison factor eleanor has achieved... just a thought.....

My Grandfather thought it was awful that my Dad turned his Model T into a Hotrod. My dad thought it was sacreligious that I built a GT350 clone on my '65 fastback. I feel a bit like a hypocrite when I say this but I think its horrible that people glue that plastic crap to perfectly good (and good looking) 67/68 Mustangs.

I hate the whole Eleanor craze. When I go to car shows and see an Eleanor, I can't even go over to look at because it turns my stomach.

I hope the craze suffers a quick and painful death. And for those of you doing Eleanor conversions....STOP NOW or you WILL regret it. Make it a Bullitt or a Shelby Clone if you must...people will stare at those just as much.

In 10 or 15 years kids will be ripping off all that fiberglass to put them back to their stock look.

Then they will pull that POS aluminum 427 and drop in a 1.4 litre titanium hydrogen motor that has (stock) 750 HP and gets about 1000 miles on a gallon of water. That will leave plenty of room for the flux capicator, the phase invertor and the gravity repulsor.

"You made a time machine out of.... an Eleanor?"
