My trans is grinding 1st to 2nd unless I’m gentle. Supposedly rebuilt under previous ownership not too many miles ago.

I found plenty of sludge on the drain plug when changing the oil recently. also worth noting that the clutch linkage was a mess causing reduced travel. Fixed now.

Is it likely I’ll need just blocker rings or a synchro assembly and gears too?

Thanks, I’m pretty sure it’s internal. I’ve replaced all the zbar bushings and rebuilt the pedal shaft with Mustang Steve bearing. Oil is fresh too.
Just really wondering if just rings usually fixes this or if gears and synchros are often needed too.
