First off I know it's not the right size for maximum performance but I'd like to know how the engine would respond with this size turbo. Has anyone used this size on a 4.6 or 302? I'm NOT looking for over 5 lbs of boost and would like it to peak very early in the rpm band.

That's just the ratio's. What size is it? a 33mm or an 86mm.....different results :)

Looks like I was wrong on the AR. It's a .42. As far as the size you mentioned, I'm guessing its the smaller 33mm, maybe you can tell from the photos cause I simply don't know. These turbos are ones I bought off flea bay a couple years ago that didn't match the specs that was listed, they were from Blaast Performance. Actually the other stuff in the deal was junk also. Waste gates didn't work, blow off valves didn't work and so on. I'd place them in the same category as the "Fast" guy that everyone knows about LOL. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Looks like about a 60mm exducer. That's a tiny *** turbo. I wouldn't use it on a 2.0L. Also seems to be mismatched with that turbine housing, which I don't even recognize. Is it some sort of OEM turbo? Or is it for/from a twin setup?

The compressor side might be a replacement for a Thunderbird 2.4/2.6L turbo, or it might be for a BMW 524 Turbo Diesel. Still not sure about that turbine housing.

Looks very much the once common Chrysler 2.3 OEM turbo. From a K-car, Daytona, stuff like that. Pretty sure they had .42 inducers.
2.3 Thiunderbirds used Garretts in 1985-86,IHI turbos in 1987-88. But they were 60/48 in automatic cars or 60/63 A/R for the automatic cars.

I think that's a mix match of parts. On the compressor housing you can see M27 and BCC1 or BCCI, if you search for these you come up with various things. The turbine housing is what is throwing me off. Most OEMs are going to have a outlet pattern that accommodates an internal wastegate. GT3x series can use a 6-bolt turbine housing but they don't look like that.

There's some good junkyard turbos out there. People like Holesets (though I do not) and Borg Warner S3xx and S4xx off diesels. But these are also pretty cheap to buy new. Most OEM Mitsubishi, Garrett, IHI, KKK, etc. turbos are too small for a V8 application in single turbo. Also if it says AiResearch on it, it's pretty much outdated. In most cases a turbo you happen to have laying around just isn't going to be worth your time.

If you want to do a single turbo I'd look for a Borg Warner S3xx or S4xx off a diesel or buy one new. Maybe a used Turbonetics T-Series that you can have rebuilt. 5.0 guys like Mastercrafts but I consider them junk. I also do not like PTE or anything from Bullseye.

Yeah, I have an IHI on my son's car that I modded for him while he was in Iraq. Took the 2.3 out of a 87 turbo coupe and transplanted it into his 93 Fox, actually I moved everything out of the turbo coupe and used it on the Fox. That thing is a blast to drive and is the most fun car I have ever drove. I've been messing around with the car some today and think my best option is to get it running first and see what and if anything breaks then start moving up on the power. Course it is easier to fab up the plumbing as I go rather than have to go back into the bay and start modding. Thanks for the response. One last question, what size would I need "if" I threw the boost to the 4.6 to provide about 7 or 8 lbs. It will be mounted up front with a air to air intercooler. Here's a photo of my son's Fox. Oh, one thing I forgot about and need to fix is the throttle arm. It is not opening up but about 70% of the way. I'm sure there is a bit more power left in this thing that we didn't know about LOL.

How much power do you plan to make?

The stock engine is around 300HP but I'd like to have 400 at the flywheel, nothing crazy. Oh, I have a couple of Master Power turbos in use and they have preformed flawlessly.
