Hello, I'm new to working on vintage cars so be gentle. When I use my turn signal to the left it works perfectly and automatically turns off but when I try to signal right the lever barely goes up and I need to hold it upwards for my blinker to go off. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

It's a very common problem in vintage Mustangs. You need to replace the turn signal switch. Part of it has broken off. You'll need to remove the steering wheel to replace it.

There's a 99.9 % chance Maxum96 is right. The only other thing would be if your steering wheel is mis-aligned and the cancel cam is not allowing the signal to stay on.

The switch is a good do-it your self project as long as you can lay on your back under the steering wheel to transfer connections.

You may not need the entire switch and only this cam is needed. Replacing the entire switch is a real PITA. And if you decide to replace the switch don't buy one of the cheap aftermarket switches or you will be replacing it again soon. New switches are available from the company that originally made them for Ford.
