The Sacramento Area Mustang club hosted their anual Mustangs & Fords in the Park show today. Most of the VMFers met up and cruised in together, so that we could have all the VMF cars together.

R100RT won first place in the under construction with his awesome Twin Turbo 331 stroker fast back, new VMFer theredcar won first place in the '65/'66 stock category, sac69 won 2nd in the '69/'70 stock category, stangwithbeat65 won an award in the new young owners category, and for those that were on the Knottsberry Farm show cruise last year that remember Bob and his red '69 Mach I 428CJ ... he won 1st in the '69/'70 stock class.

Also in attendance was sacbill (Bill, did you also win an award?), 65rangoon, del65, ninjakid (without car), and of course myself.

Keeping with our NorCal traditions, 70sportsroof was almost in attendance. ::

I was too busy "BS"ing during the awards, knowing that there'd been too many hanging chads on the ballots that screwed me out of best of show. :D

Congratulations!

Hey John
It sounds like it was a fun show. I'm going to put it on the schedule for BAMA for next year.

Next year the SoCal boys will have to cruise up there...

Oh, Bob, how 'bout it? You in or are you ?????

Bob in CA??? Yea right! I did hear they had corn on the cob for lunch! Maybe there's hope. LOL

There is absolutely nothing better than spending a beautiful day in the California sun yammering about Mustangs...swapping stories...trading tips...meeting new friends...catching up with old ones...AND being voted second in the Best Stock 64.5 - 66 category. Jim Beisnor, fellow Mustangs Across America Alumni, skated with first prize for his '65 fastback.

Thanks to all you Nor-Cal VMFers for letting a newbie be a part of the group. It was great fun! See you in Pismo...

And a special thanks to mach1me (and family) and the rest of the MAA crowd from Sac and those that came in from Canada and Nevada for the show. You're the best.

I it was a great day to BS and check out the other area cars for new ideas. Rick's twin turbo was quite an engineering feat. For the record, I was in the modified class.

This time I was just a "passenger on the bus". I'm not in the club any more, and hadn't even decided if I was going until about Wednesday. I'll try to give a heads up next time, though.
