There is a dipstick on the top of the power steering pump. Remove the dipstick and the fluid goes in that hole. BE SURE to use ONLY type F automatic transmission fluid.

I think your right because I can’t locate it anywhere, does the 1967 inline 6 have a power steering reservoir and if not how do I put fluid in

Quick tip, put some in. Check the level. do it again, check the level. It goes from add more, to gurguling out in a teaspoon. then you have fluid all over the place...

Also, turn the wheels stop-to-stop a few times and then top up =)

Is there a problem with the steering? Your car has manual steering and there is no pump to put fluid into. If you want to do something for your steering gear you might put some #1 grease into it; https://www.vintage-mustang.com/thr...ptions-misunderstands-of-steering-boxes.1222569/?post_id=10944596#post-10944596 Don't use #2 grease like the dummies in the videos.

 

yes its a small struggle to turn at times but I have 235/60r15 tires on the front so I was thinking that might be the issue because I’m also getting a grinding noise and a rattling when I turn right.

 

I don't know that I've ever seen an 6 cylinder with an intact smog system.

 

Me neither - that is REALLY rare. Worth keeping intact, IMO. Enjoy the car. We are here to help.

That is a very rare car to have the Smog components intact.
Yes, it is a manual steering car (no PS fluid), if this car has steering issues it will pertain to the linkage (Tie Rods-centerlink-or Box)

 

Here's what the engine bay looks like with power steering. You ain't got it.

Your steering issues are probably just that you aren't used to manual steering and have wider than factory tires. The grinding noise when you turn right is most likely a tire rubbing something when turned all the way. I'll bet if you look in the wheel well you'll find a clean spot where the tire hits the frame or fender.

The wheel seems to have some strange adapters at the lug nut holes. Never seen those before.

 

I think they were called either uni-lug, or vari-lug. Which were meant to work on several different lug patterns by using the particular insert.
