Ive read several threads about engine and t5 swaps but find out what care you can basically but and put into a 67. In a perfect world like like to find early 90s and use as much as i can. At the very least engine transmision wiring harness. AC, rear end etc...

Can some one point me to a thread that discusses this. Or let me know what yr mustang I can use engine trans, rear end or anything else

Thanks

All new mustang drive train can fit in ur mustang with some fabrication. I got a 92 gt mustang drive train in mines. The rear end i dont think can fit but dont hold me to it. The fox bodies are the easiest to do the swap with since the engine is the same size as the older 302 just got make a few changes to make it work.

I'm running engine, trans, rear end, wiring harness. Will play around with adding the PS pump as well. Going to experiment to see if I can use the radiator.

Donor car was a 91 LX.

I also used the e-brake setup from an 02 GT. I'd already scrapped the 91 when I came up with the idea, but would guess that it would have worked.

Engine and trans with a few adapters. Brakes with a lot of adapters. Rear axle with cutting and welding, and adapters.

The engine and trans are well worth the effort. The front brakes, not worth the effort. Rear axle a real waste of time.

Rear axle is just about the correct width. I'm using one. But you have to chop the brackets and weld on the leaf spring perches. (Or find a way to mate the fox suspension to the 67).

I disagree with 22's 'real waste of time'. Took a day, and I had 3.55 gears and traction lok for $120. Not sure how that's a real waste of time. Seems like a perfect use of time to me.

+1.

Took my car from a 3.00 8 inch to a 4.10 Trak lok. Had to buy spring perches and buy new axles for the 5 lug, and was doing a brake swap anyway.

Seats! Definitely a great idea. And it's basically a bolt-in. I have '93's in mine.

i always scratch my head when i see these threads.

what's the point of replacing old stock crap with newer stock crap?
Simple: I replaced a destroyed 289, C4, and open 3.00 8" with a stroked 5.0, with Trick Flow heads and intake, all components, computer, wiring harnesses to run EFI, a T5, and an 8.8 Trak lok with 4.10 FRPP gears. Paid $4k for the donor car, took what I wanted, sold $2800 worth of parts, which paid for the tyranny rebuild and a machine shop to go back through the motor, balance, blueprint, etc.

Buying my drivetrain new would cost me $7-8k. I paid $1200 net, and I wouldn't exactly call it crap.

For somebody who is on a limited budget and wanting to build a solid, reliable driver, a fox transplant is a no-brainer. EFI roller motor that is reliable and good for 200k, OD transmission, and lots of other useable upgrade parts, for less than a new crate motor.

Pretty smart when you consider it.

That'll have the modular 4.6 liter motor in it. That requires major shock tower work to get it to fit in a vintage Mustang. The newest you could use I think would be a 95. Whatever was the last year of the 5.0 Windsor engine. Not the new 5.0 engine. That would require shock tower surgery too.

'zactly.

Even the stock stuff is not "crap".

The second part of my post above does assume "stock", although if one is looking for modified or upgraded parts, that's not unheard of on Fox bodies...

I guess if you put enough qualifiers on it, you can be correct in your assertion that people who are doing fox swaps are replacing old crap with newer crap.
