I have heard that Ford Motor company customer relationship centre can track thru their records and provide a list of what options were provided with the car when bought.
Is this true? I am in Australia and own a 66 coupe with a VIN of 6R07C23418. Can anyone out there provide me with an email adress of the customer site or assist me with sites that I can use to track history/ previous owners/ licenseplate numbers or anythink else that may be interesting/

Well i believe that Ford only did this for cars 67 and after... that leaves us 66 guys out in the dust. But as for your VIN.... if you goto the FAQ's on this web-site you can find a vin decoder. I hope i helped

Tim is right. That info is only available for the '67 and later cars since Ford purged all the records before that time. Look at the data plate on your driver side door. Does the VIN# match what's on the inner fender? If so, then write down all the info on the door data plate and run it through the Decoder here. That's about all the info you're gonna be able to find unless you run across the build sheet in the car somewhere.

Do you have the data tag on the drivers door jam? It will have codes telling you the engine, transmission, rear ratio, exterior color, interior color and style (pony or standard). It won't tell you if you had a console, rally pac, or fog lights though. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Before 1967, Ford used to purge their computer of the data records. They just didn't have the data storage capacity to keep that sort of thing. We '66 owners are pretty much left to our own devices, sadly.

Ant - If you can find your buildsheet, we can tell a whole lot just from that. It's a piece of paper that is often wrapped around the main harness behind the instrument cluster, under the carpet, or in other places. Have you tried looking for that?
