well... after 25 months of restoration.. she's ready for exhaust.

I'm in Toronto, Ontario and looking for a reputable shop..
after searching the posts I'm leaning towards 2 1/4", from my Hooker comp. headers to Flowmaster 50's (maybe 40's delta flow).

Hi Gary, have we talked before??

I checked your bio and sounds just like mine. Bought my car in 80 (21 yrs old) in Toronto, stored since 84, started tear down last year and ongoing. I grew up in Brampton and now live just north of Guelph in Fergus.

Were you always in TO? and wherabouts? I also noticed you are a technical analyst, where do you work?

As for exhaust, you might try asking DanielGill on VMF, he just had his engine re-built and is in the Oakville area.

Hi Scott, Wow... the bio's are close! I was in St. Jacobs yesterday! how the restoration going?
yep born and raised in downtown Toronto, Yonge and Eglinton...
I'm working for a company out of North Carolina.. and yourself?

My car is coming along.. just putting all the chrome back on the car, just in time to let it sit for another winter!

I'll send you a pic.

I'll contact DanielGill and see if he knows of a place... Thanks

Gary

Hi Guys,
I'm in Oakville, haven't a clue about your question, but have one for you:
Looking for a good (honest and not too high-priced) shop to do MAJOR rust repair on my 65 coupe (new to me in 1979, age 18). Hasn't been driven since about 1991, needs floors, torque boxes, firewall extensions, frame extensions (front and rear) trunk floor, hood, qtr's, wheel houses, oh my god what am I thinking!?!

I'll take it anywhere within a reasonable drive of Oakville and can wait for the work to be done.

Thanks in advance for any info you can share,
Brian

Yeah, I can understand why. It's a ton of work and no doubt a lot of hassles for the shop but I'm a bit leery of learning to weld on the frame of my car! Dan Gill's work was done near Paris, I will check that place out.

Anyone else out there have any recommendations? (Other than selling the car and buying one in better shape - I've heard that one enough!)

Hi Brian, you and I and Gary (67mousetang) have identical bio's, all three still have the car we bought in '77/ '79 / '80. must be a Canadian thing eh !!

Check with Danielgill on VMF, he just had his 73 body work done and he's in the Oakville area.

sorry Brian, somehow I missed your 2nd post, you've already taken my advise and talked to Dan

Other thoughts.... Legendary Motor Cars in Milton they may be more than what you are looking for though. They do more concours type work.
The only other one I know of is in the Guelph area

Guelph isn't all that far from Oakville, if the shop is good and will do the work! Do you have any more info on it? Also, if there is anyone out there who wants a 73 sportsroof, I know of one in a barn (mostly dismantled) that the owner wants to get rid of. Not sure about the price, but the engine has been rebuilt for performance. (not installed).
