Which would you want, Shelby or Boss?

Which would you rather have, a '68 GT 350 or a Boss 302? Both have manual transmissions and you can have any color or options you want. I'd like to hear your choice and most importantly, why. Reason for the question, I'm starting a business and may have to sell one of my toys. I'm torn and looking for guidance. Thanks.

I'd have to say keep the GT-350...they are just beautiful, classic cars with great lines. I love the 70 Boss 302, it is one of my favorite Mustangs, but I still give the nod to the Shelby.

I would also prefer the Shelby, especially the one in the pic! But I wouldn't mind having the Boss either. I like the body style on the 69-70 fastbacks. I would probably get a Mach 1 as my next project, as long as I can get it past the finance dept. (wife)!

Shelby most definately. Its body lines are unique, rare, and gorgeous. Not to knock a 70s boss, the lines are very similar to any other sportsroof, but it is still very desirable and unique on its own. I would not hesitate to choose the shelby...

Not a choice I would want to make. The '68 Shelby is a little more unique than the Boss. Even with the current Eleanor clones popping out like rabbits breeding the '68 is still unique among them and any other Shelby. That being said, I have always thought the '69 Boss 302 was the best looking Mustang ever made, bar none, with the '70 B2 coming in a close 2nd. In the end I think I would keep the Shelby. With all the E clones, B2 clones, and '69-'70 Machs running around the '68 GT350 is just something you don't see too often and a true classic Shelby will always be at the top of the collector car value list.

If both were in similar condition its real easy - the Boss 302. Nothing against them, but by 68 the 350's were not anything special except for some fiberglass pieces on the exterior IMHO. Nice as a cruiser, lots of creature comforts and it does say Shelby on it.

On the other hand the Boss 302 was a high performance car with only a few compromises.

You asked for opinions ;)

If given your situation I would sell the Shelby. Will bring more dollars currently though likely less than 6 months ago.

Good luck with your choice

I love both, always wanted a '69 Boss but love the shakers of the 70's......if it were any other Shelby I might think about it, but I love the 68's so no contest to me. Keep the 68 unless you need more money.

Regards and GL in your new venture.

Having experienced both intimately, I'd have to say the Shelby too. The J-code 302 with the Shelby touches is a sweet and totally under rated engine. The Boss is a neat car, especially with a shaker, but it is still mostly and engine package type car while the Shelby is a total package type car with interior AND body mods.

I'd keep the Shelby. Even though it was posted above that by '68, they were more about fiberglass parts added on, it still has the Shelby name attached to it. I can't imagine that a 68 Shelby is any slouch though! : )

It's a beauty of a car and it's still from the decade of the 60's.

JMO I'd take the Boss - I've never liked the 68 Shelby hood.

On a different note the suspensions at full droop demonstrate the effect of the upper control arm drop very well, look at the difference between the camber of the wheels at full droop! (Or is it just an optical illusion? Did the Boss cars come with the drop, and does your's have it?)

I would keep the Shelby. I like Boss but that shelby has the same paint I have my car but still a hard decision. Like both body style

Tuff decision they are both awsome. But if I had to choose I would keep the Shelby.

An Acapulco Blue '68 Shelby is a great combo but if they were in the same condition I'd go with the Boss. A more true performance car.

It depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to look at it, the Shelby is unquestionably drop-dead gorgeous. If you want to drive it, the B2 is probably more rewarding.

Me, I'd probably keep the Boss. Nice problem to have, though.

As you can see, a question like that isn't going to help you decide anything. Take any two choices (heads or tails, A or B, Boss or Shelby) and a large enough sample group, and you're going to end up with a 50/50 split.

My advice, pick the one you like the most (even if only just bit more than the other) and never look back with regret.

Better yet, exhaust all possible alternatives for financing before you sell one.

I would wager that the Boss is a better racer than the Shelby. After all, Shelby was mad that F*** didn't give them the Boss engine!

Or so I remember it... anyways. I've never driven either! I wish I had your problems.

Hmm thanks for leaving the difficult decissions for US!!
Well since you are starting a business. I would say keep the BOSS.
The Shelby will bring you more cash. Having had my own business before...Liquid reserve for an initial business start up is a good thing.
Extra reserve keeps the stress down and keeps your relationship with your partner and or your wife in good harmony.
