I am literally ready to explode.

went to four parts stores today and after rejecting 351w intake gaskets at 3 of em got what I need to mount the intake.

But now the problem is the intake doesn't fit......oh all the holes all line up and all the ports are correct.....but the 351c with 4v heads has a little guide tit (one on the front driver, and one on the rear passenger) on the heads for holding the pan gasket in place while mounting....and the Weiand Xcelerator intake isn't cut to go around it.....the weiand tunnel ram I took off and the factory intake I have both are.......why isn't the new one?

SO what do I do know. Do I send the intake back because it is not the right one.....it sure looks right aside from them tit problem......do I 'modify' the intake to mount over the tit.....I'm so confused.

I don't know if this is your problem, but there are 2 351C 4V intake manifolds. One for 2V heads, the other for 4V heads. Before sending it back, call the manufacuter for their recommendation.

I thought that may have been the problem....but I double checked. The number casted into the intake 7517 is for the 4v model. The 7516 is for the 2v.....and I looked at the photos on the Weiand homepage again....and the pics they have show it machined correctly.

Jegs.com is sending me a replacement in the off-chance that it was cast wrong...but I am feeling less than optimistic. I also sent a question direct to holley/weiand asking if this is a known problem or a "one- off only happens to me event"

You are to remove the dowels from the heads,Should be in the install instructions somewhere. Yes many of the older manifolds had provisions for them but most today do not. You should also be using the FelPro #1228 intake gasket

You could also very carefully drill the indents, just be careful and dont get carried away with the drill...

Actually I didn't get any...but they were sure to include stickers....gotta have those priorities.
