Hey guys. Im rebuilding a 1971 grande mustang and im new to certain parts. I have a 351c 2v and was wondering if a Eaton M90 supercharger would work on my engine? Ive seen one on ebay for a decent price that came off of a 3.8 L thunderbird in great condition. Thank you!

You'd have to get an intake that would mount it, so it could work. However, the M90 is pretty small for a 351 cid engine I've seen people saying. You can get them cheap all the time, so I'd research it before you pull the trigger on one.

I'd be concerned with two possible issues...

First, the M90 at 90 cu in. of air-flow per revolution, even if overdriven, may not supply enough air to make much of a difference on a 351C and, second, with the 351C-2V's open chamber heads propensity for detonation I'd be concerned about any additional cylinder pressure.

Download "Blower_Calculator.xls" from here:

Enter values in white squares to calculate results. You can change the supercharger for the calculations from the gray drop down list in the center.

Hope this helps.

This is a down and dirty calculation, I'm not held liable if you use this information.

If you install an Eaton M112 supercharger on you 351C, and run 7.4lb of boost at 6000rpm, you will need a 2.0:1 drive ratio to spin the SC at 12,000rpm.
With a 12.5:1 AFR, this setup will yield 513HP.

The calculator suggests at this boost level and maximum RPM, the best SC to use is an Autorotor OA4180 .

Ain't spreadsheets fun!

Maybe a better choice would be a M122 as used on 07-09 GT500's. Plenty of them around as many upgrade to a larger Whipple or KenneBell. Some of the Lightning guys who had machinist skills made an adapter plate to mount them on a Lightning 5.4 2V motors. Either way, M90 way too small for the effort.....
