What is the best/most cost effective place to send my AC compressor to for a rebuild? I want to keep it R12. When they rebuild it, are they just going to replace all gaskets and seals or will they replace the actual iron internals too?

Also, what's the best/most cost effective place to send my power steering pump for a rebuild? Mine is making a decent amount of noise.

I want to rebuild, not replace, so that I can keep these pieces as original as possible.

Assuming that it is a factory power steering pump? I'd suggest Dan Chockley - @CHOCK - aka Chockostang.

I am guessing you have a cast iron compressor, and if so, rings and seals / gaskets are all that is typically replaced. The rest of it is pretty bullet proof. If it was run no oil, scored the inside, messed up the crank, they just toss them into scrap.

Some places do not charge a core price, or $10 or so, so that gives you an idea on the value of the compressor. New compressors are cheaper than rebuilt often.
