Which trim pieces? Pics? Some pieces, like the belt line pieces are not reproduced.

 

I am looking to replace the trim on my 1965 FB.

Does anyone have thoughts on where i should purchase it?
(And yes i know where its available-no need to list all the sites that it can be purchased from)

I am curious of quality & completeness of the sets for sale.
Example would be CJ Pony Parts and NPD have them for $50 difference, WHY? Whats the extra $50 get me?
Nothing. There is only one manufacturer.

ALSO, whats the original: Pitted, Painted (overspray from previous owner), scraped, scratched, But complete set worth?
Depends on condition.

I'm not a fastback owner but we do enough Mustangs to realize most repro trim leaves a lot to be desired. Have you checked into having your originals replated?

 

Reprodutions are horrible,they fit lousy and when you try tp put together the gaps are a joke,there is a site that tells you in sequence how to install repros,I had to do that with one of mine since they were missing, the other cars have originals,it was if the company who reproduced them used a tape measure that was missing a 1/4" off of it,look for originals to get replated, it's worth the aggrravation,Pete

 

I used SD on my FB and it fit perfectly. In fact, my upholsterer (in business for over 45 years), even commented on how nice it fit.

You said you used "SD", what is it you are referring to?


Also I have yet to look into replating, but I do have all the original trim with screws and assorted pieces. Will be pricing it this week.

I'm keeping an eye on this thread!
I discovered that mice had gotten into my original fold-down trim stash. Mouse pee destroyed the chrome plating. :crybaby:

 

Much interest too. I still have my originals, but if it's as expensive as that article says, I might look into repro parts.
