1966 GT update please advise!

OK I am down to only putting in both drive and passenger quart panels..

I took everyones advice on here to remove the WHOLE quarter panel. I have removed both passenger and drivers side quarter panel.

So tell me how hard is it to install both quarter panels? I know I am going to need ALL the bolt on parts... (both doors, both fenders, deck lid, and Hood). But how hard can this be after all the other work I have done??

after this I can declare all the metal work done !!! and ready for paint shop!!!

And when you start the spot welding, don't start in one spot and work your way around from there.
Heating up a quarter panel like that can cause shifting in the structure/panels and you can wind up with ugly gaps that were not there when you started.
Jump around with the spot welds. Two or three on one side or area and then jump to another area. Not saying it is a guarantee it will happen, but from personal experience, it can.

Invest in some cleko's and pop everything together and trial fit the rear glass before you weld anything.

I would almost consider getting a spot welder to get to the obvious welds when you get ready to weld, it saves a bunch of time grinding welds back down.

All of the above is good advice. Get a bag of Cleco's, or at least a bag of sheetmetal screws. Clip or screw the whole thing together, including the decklid and valence, and pattern your welds just like you would the bolt torque on a manifold.

I like to use clamps to get the panels as tight as needed, then use self tappers.

I used a minimum of screws, with lots of clamps to minimize through holes. In some places they are unavoidable, plus you need some to be able to take it apart, and put back together in the exact same spot.
