289 Spark Plug Gap?

Probably a dumb question, but I'm just getting started on a conv. project. What's the spark plug gap supposed to be for a '67 289 c-code auto.? I've got resto. books, but they don't give basic tune-up info.- only part numbers.

with a stock ignition.... .034"

You can up it with a pertronix and aftermarket coil...

I run over .060 gap on the race car with a MSD box and distributor...

The Ford Shop Manual says 0.032-0.036". I'd go with 0.035", maybe 0.040 or 0.045" if your running a Pertronix and a hotter coil.

I run with 0.035 on my dad's '65 coupe with points and it starts up fine even on a cold morning.

I gap my http://members.aol.com/macstang/Gifs/sprkplug.gif at .035. I've tried a bit more gap but the motor just doesn't like it. I have 10:1 compression and an MSD if that makes any difference.
