I suddenly feel a LOT better about the pile of crap I paid $500 for that actually looks a LOT like that one. At least mine came with wheels and suspension.

If it has a solid roof it's one up on mine on that point. Mine needs skinning at the least.

I like to think my $500 car was a good deal. Then I go out and poke part of it to be greeted with a rusty shower of what used to be some combination of sheet metal and bondo and question my sanity for buying it. I've had vehicles in my possession before that the best I could I could say about them was "parts cars". Can't even really say that about this one. There aren't any "good" parts I would consider salable. Not really.
I can see a good roof assembly bringing $1300 I think. If I counted labor I'd have a whole lot more than that in my complete roof before it's ready for paint. Not far off that even with free labor. Really does put the $2K asking price in perspective. Probably all that needed to be said to straighten this thread out was how much the earlier roof brought.
Still, take that out out of context again somewhere else and I bet you'll have people going "holy crap!" all over again.
