Hello once again, I was finally able to rouse up some pictures of this fastback that I am trying to purchase. I tried to get the best pics that I could, the car is on 4 flats and so I got the best ones of the floor pans that I could. The guy I am trying to buy the car from is asking 8,500. The car is also not currently running, it was a daily driver 8 years ago, but has sat since then. I'm just trying to get some info as to if you guys think it's worth 8,500 or not. Thanks for any help.

Too high by half.

I know fastbacks are semi-outrageous in price right now...but that's just silly. You could take that car and spend $20,000 more on it and have a car that's worth about $18,000.

If you want a project...that's certainly a project. I'm not saying it can't be fixed...it most certainly could be fixed based on what I'm seeing....but 8500 for a project car...that's a c-code to boot?

Seems to me you'd be a lot better off planning on paying twice that much and getting 10 times the car...and you'll have a car you can come close to getting your money out of if/when you ever want to.

Just my $.02.

Without more detailed pics, I am going to go out on a limb here and say that (from my past experience) there will be a WHOLE lot more rust under that paint in the quarter panel area..and maybe the rear of the rocker also..all in all, it looks like a nice start for a project...mine looked similar (sig pic) in pictures, and in person, it was evident there was more..I was just shocked at how much more :horror:..once I tore it all apart (after driving it a year or more)I discovered rust in every panel and the underside(except the floor..PO replaced that ;)..guess what I am saying is be prepared for more work(and money) than you think.Part of the problem will be that when you have one thing apart to fix, "while Im at it" you will go deeper and deeper..finding more and more rust..for just a bit more money, you might be suprised at what you can get(relitivly rust free) in comparision to what he is asking..bottom line...it looks like a complete and worthy project, but he might be asking a bit much..(just my .02..can you tell I am discuraged by the rust on mine? :wall:)

I'll go with the rest of the crowd --- too much $$$. Looks like a pretty rusty car with a fair paint job, so it probably looks better than it really is.

Really have to wonder about some people --- why would anyone let a relatively nice car like this set out for that many years? Yeah, I know --- "gonna fix it up someday!"

I think you are paying too much for a car that is going to require some serious work. I would pffer him half of what he is asking and if he accepts your good. There are better cars out there for the type of money you are about to spend...

The price is too high.
The price is set on the fact that from 15 feet the car look sgood because it still has some decent paint left on it.

The rest in the rear quarters behind the tire is a sign that the car has more rust than metal. IMO this is one to pass on...especially at that price.
