Found a 69 base coupe in Northern Kentucky, not far from Kentucky Speedway sitting broke in two in the weeds.Car is a 351 2V, H-code,no options except radio. Here's the interesting part, this thing is a factory 4-speed,code 6 on the door tag,,and the car is all there,,even the posi rear still. The guy bought it new in Cincinatti in early 69,,he told me.Thing is so rusty,,i couldnt get the hood up,,but even the plug wires i could see were autolite still.Heat riser tube is still intact,,car shows 90K miles,,which he said were correct when it was parked.Driveshaft is still in the trans,,so i would imagine the Close-ratio 4-speed is good.Is this car worth a grand or so??Marti book says it's 1 of 31 ever made in 69. Let me know your feelings. Thanks,,.Jeff K.

Rarity doesn't always equate with value. Sounds like a parts car from your description. Why was it parked (blowm motor?)? What are the usable parts worth? Take that # and then divide it by the "hassle factor" of having to try and pry those parts off the rusty hulk (pick any number you like!!!) and that would be the value. Of course if the seller thinks he's got a diamond in the rough, come back in a year and see what he'll take for it.

Wasn't this same car posted about a year ago?? It sounds like it.

The only thing going for it is the 9" (2v 351 is really not a rare engine) and 4sp, otherwise it's a plain-jane coupe. You sure it's a posi? Did you check the rear end tag? IIRC the door data plate will not say if it's a posi.

I'm with Sac69. Probably not a traction-lok rear, but an open 9" one.

Let's see, about 1.5 years ago, I paid $3000 for a completely rust free, running '69 coupe (although it's only a 302 2v, C4 car) with factory disk brakes, and console, single owner car with 90k original miles.

Going by that, figuring this one doesn't run, and that it's broke in half, I'd say you should take it if he gives you $500 to pull it out of the weeds.

About 6 months ago, I bought a '69 351-2V 4 speed coupe. It didn't have the original spark plug wires, but it does have the heat riser tube, the original 2-barrel Autolite carb, original paint, original interior, etc., and NO rust. Runs and drives--for $2,500. I would be hard-pressed to give him even $500 for it. Mine is probably 1 of some low number, too--the only royal marroon/dark red interior/engine-tranny combo/delivered to the dealer in Portland, yada, yada. Some of the break-downs for rarity are cool, but some are fairly meaningless.
