Just stick the bolt back in it and tighten good. Make sure you have a Phillips that fits the screw good so you won't strip out the screw head, etc. and can get a good twist on it.

 

Also check the threads in your pedal to make sure there good. You'll probably find that out though when you go to tighten it. :thumbsup:

Just a small Tinnerman nut. Rarely seen. I think the guys at the factory often skipped them. You don't really need it.

 

I don't remember any clip to hold in the attaching bolt-----

 

On a 65/66, there is a little sheet metal clip that the screw goes into through the other side of the pedal. I wish I can try and take a picture of it for you. Both of my cars have it. Without it, the pedal will wobble as it loosens. I dont know how to attach pictures, so you will have to PM me with your email address. I will go take a pic now if I can from an installed angle. I will let you know how it goes.

 

Go to NPD or Mustangs unlimited web sites, and it will show you all the parts and usually an "exploded " view of their assembly sequence, you DO NEED that little
clip on the end of the screw. A little loctite doesn' hurt either.
