Do your best to find originals. They are steel, so they can be repaired and polished. My experience was the reproductions did not fit well and cost more to try to make work than cleaning up a set of originals. There are members here who will most likely have some in their barns.

Tell me exactly what you need and I might be able to find originals for you. There is a guy local to me that has buckets of OEM trim pieces. Sometimes you get lucky and find some really good pieces. I just had to go through this stash to find some pieces for my car. It takes a while to look through, but it’s worth it.

Get some tin foil, form it into the shapes needed to fit around the windshield, and then polish it. Now you've got the same thing as aftermarket windshield moldings and you didn't have to pay for shipping! :) Like mentioned above, see if you can find some originals and go from there. The aftermarket ones are real flimsy - I know, I made that mistake.

Goodmark and Scott Drake do not make windshield moldings. They just re-sell windshield moldings.

There are three different manufacturers for 65-68 windshield moldings. Corvex, Motowell, and Golden Legion.

Motowell is poor quality.

Most Mustang parts dealers sell the Corvex. And that is why most respondents to your post gave you horrible reviews and pushed towards original Ford.

But the Golden Legion moldings are pretty darned good. Thicker than Corvex (only 3-thousandth of an inch thinner than Ford), better-fitting than Corvex, and newer/more-recent tooling than Corvex. I would invite you to read the reviews on our set: MOLDING SET, FRONT WINDSHIELD - #03148-1BK - National Parts Depot

It's, again, one of those reproductions that gets commonly stereotyped, when there is in fact a pretty decent repro available. Depends on who you buy from ;)

ok, so just how do you search for just the golden legion brand? or is that the only brand you have for a 69 fastback?

I bought mine from NPD just over 2 years ago. I normally spend the money on the best part they have. I cant tell who made mine, but I threw them in the trash. Maybe things have changed in this front in the past 2 years, but I won't be spending money on reproduction window trim again. The problem was not with the grade of steel, but with the shape of the parts.

I wrote a blog post on it at the time. Back to Original Window Trim

Boy, I can't explain your results in that instance. Heck, I can't explain why your Ford moldings fit better than the original factory-installed moldings on my un-restored 1,300-mile 1965 coupe!! LOL..

In comparison, my unrestored 65 coupe looks very similar to my restored 67 coupe, aside from the polish and dent removal. I would have been content with your trim when I was restoring as well. It' still way better than the reproduction I tried.
