My 69 is in the middle of getting all its metal work done but I’m stuck on final paint color. Car was red from the last owner, black jade originally but I always wanted a raven black mach one with the red stripe package.
Does anyone have good pictures of the 69 black jade done correctly?
I’ve seen it look gold (dislike), grayish (like) and hunter green (dislike).

I’d swear that black was green.

Yeah that color choice thing--one shot deal. Black Jade is probably my favorite green on these cars. If mine was originally this color, no brainer. Mine was Lime gold, which I really dislike in BC/CC, so I'm looking for a modern substitute that looks similar to the way it should look. Keep us posted!

I like keeping things origonal wherever I can, and I had never seen a car painted this color, but knew I wanted to keep it factory. I ended up loving this color, and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would just seeing pictures. It looks rich, and it's a very unique color you don't see anywhere else. Most people would think it is a custom color, and BC/CC with a nice wax makes the paint look so deep. I'd be one to vote to keep your car original with this color.

Edit: I should also add that I had area's on the car where the factory paint remained, and was used for comparison. The BC/CC adds a lot more gloss to the color, but the factory color (after a good buffing) was very close to how this turned out.

I love Black Jade, it's one of those colors that I wasn't too keen on when I was younger, but it grew and grew and grew on me. Also, it's one of those colors where if you really get the bodywork slick and smooth, and really put in the time blocking and sanding, it takes on a different level of beauty.

My Boss 429 is actually, originally, a Black Jade car. It got re-sprayed (to a very high standard) Raven Black in the early-80's.

Now, there's certainly nothing bad you can say about a Raven Black Boss 429. The car is drop-dead gorgeous. But if I ever decide, some day, to go through the car and freshen it, I think I'm going to go all the way and put it back to original.

Oh yeah, Black Jade is an AMAZING color when the paint is in good shape. It's a very, very dark, metallic green. Likely, many people have seen a Black Jade car and didn't know it because those cars were very oxidized and faded.

Sure, black looks great. But there are black muscle cars all over the place. Not many Black Jade cars. If it was mine, I would definitely go with Black Jade. The fact Black Jade is the factory color would seal the deal.
