Yes, it's true. SWMBO finally drove Scary last night. We needed to run up to target, which is about a 5 mile trip, and Tracey decided she'd drive, and we'd take Scary.

On the way there, with me riding shotgun, there's this BMW that keeps trying to get Tracey to race him. I guess he was trying to show off to his girlfriend in the passenger seat. I look at Tracey and say, "Looks like that Beamer wants to race you".
"Yeah, I know." Then she gooses the throttle, shows the Beamer that he wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell, and the Beamer quickly backed off to avoid being embarrassed.

Two blocks later, there's a Toyota beside us revving his engine. I just start laughing, knowing that the Beamer at least had some sort of chance, but I could go unplug 6 spark plug wires and still beat THIS beater. Tracey didn't even acknowledge this dweeb. *LOL*

Tracey agreed that the car is very streetable, and extremely easy to drive. She concluded that it may be just a tad more attention than she's used to, though, in her 4-Runner. She said, "I ride with you in this car all the time, and I never see people challenging you all over the place. How come they were all coming after me?"

I told her it's because she shifts way too early, so they never get the full effect of the Dynomax Ultra Weld mufflers. I usually shift at about 3500 RPM or more, and they realize by the time I'm shifting to 2nd, that this isn't really the car to challenge *LOL*.

So, now I've got to get the car out to the track and make sure I can run 12's or better, although, I'm sure the only thing that would prevent it is traction.

The goal of the car was to build a 12 second car, streetable enough for SWMBO to drive. I now know that half the goal was met.

Time for another NorCal VMF at the Track event, eh?

My SWMBO doesn't know how to drive a car with a manual transmission and I'm not sure I want to teach her in my car. However, once I finally get it done, I may have a change of heart...

Yup, John, your plan almost worked. Naming that car Scary was smart. I bet she would have drove it alot sooner if it was named Pewee or Fluffy or something like that. Then, you wouldn't have gotten the seat time you wanted. I knew Tracy would work up the courage to drive that car some day. Me thinks you have created a monster, and I don't mean Scary!
