If you need to lift the rear to put TTiis on, you either:
1. Need new springs and jacker shackels are not the solution
or
2. you bought the wrong size wheels

What tire combo are you are trying to run and what size are the rims? (diameter and backspacing)

ttiis go right on my LOWERed mustang with no problems aside from rolling the fender lip in the rear

sounds like your suspension is shot or your wheel and tire choice doesn't fit your application. lift shackles arent the best way to fix the symptoms worn out suspension. especially with new wheels and tires, you dont want to mess them up. i think mustangsplus sells 'adjsutable' shackles that have a few different mounting points that raise it a little, but i doubt 2".

your problem is off course the rear width...but you know that.

I run a stock width rear end and added SSBC discs...which adds about less than 1/2 to each side...unfortunately the granada 8 inch will add jsut shy of 2 inchs to your total width which is just under about 3/4 to EACH side.

What that means is you have to either narrow the rear or order custom wheels with a larger backspacing. Otherwide your rims and tires are going to stick out past your fender line which is a look that MANY MANY MANY mustang people do not like and frown upon.

Some have stronger opinions on the look than others.

This can be a sign of sagging rear springs...get the 4 1/2 or 5 leaf springs. As stated above new shackles have two mounting holes, Std and raised ride height.

Shackles are a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad idea. They add stress to the spring mounting points that they were never designed to handle (one day you'll hit a bump and your new shackes will be in the trunk). They screw up the handling of the car. They will eventually bend your main leaf over backwards. They make your gas tank an inviting target for the next Corvette that rearends you. I lived through the 70s and the ultra-wide rear wheels that stuck out past the fenderwells and I saw all of these things happen. Don't do it.

Oh, and air shocks are an even WORSE solution. Don't get me started on that topic.

My 67 has shackles that were installed by the PO, and now they cause the body of my car to lean to the right. I noticed the left wheel sticking out about 1" further than the other side. I have since purchased new springs and shackles, but have yet to install them. I have airshocks too, but those are history as well.

The PO also installed lifting shackles on my stang. It still has em'. They're not that bad...at least from my experience (which is only this one time). I've seem em' at AutoZone but I don't know how much they actually lift. Good luck!
