Car is down for the season and I put in a mini starter this weekend, 70' 351w. In removing the starter, I discovered one of my freeze plugs is corroded and slowly failing, producing a little drip that will get worse:

I've replaced freeze plugs before in an I6, but with the engine out. This 351 is still in my car, and my giant ogre-ish hands barely fit where I could possibly work on this.. other than it just being a pain in the ass to replace, any recommendations?

You might try removing the motor mount on that side to get in there, but I'd say lifting the engine and trans would be a better bet along with replacing all the steel plugs with brass ones.

lol funny story regarding those rubber expansion plugs, years ago I put a rebuilt 455 motor in my '72 cutlass.
and it did have all new freeze plugs. After first drive found one leaking and of course impossible to get to , so I
used an expansion plug. It worked ok until 6 months later I was selling the car and on the test drive with potential
owner - BAM - plug blew out spewing coolant and steam all over. Needless to say potential buyer passed on buying it.
Ended up pulling motor partially out to fix it correctly
