Is the inside flange that bolts against the head supposed to be completely flat. My Headman headers that I have raised edges where they meet the exhaust ports. It seems that these edges would force that gasket to be squeezed against the head making a better seal. The reason that I ask is that when I pulled my PS header gasket I could see that it was leaking on all ports, and I am wondering if I am doing something wrong.

My JBAs are flat as a pancake.

One thing about headers, if you don't like them, it is only about $500 or $600 and a 6 or 8 hour job of standing on step stools and twisting your fingers into tiny, bent places to switch...

My Hookers (the one's that do not charge by the hour) have a raised bead around each port.

            :highfive: That was JUST too funny!!!Most of the mass produced headers have the raise ports. FastE

My previous set of Tri-y's had raised welds on the flanges. My new FPA's do not.

If you're looking to FIX your leaks without having to mill your headers (I just know there's a joke in here somewhere). Get a set of gaskets from These Guys

Problem Solved!

Use a 16" body board and file the ports so that there are no low spots. One pass with the board will show you shere they are. Keep at it until they are barely visble or entirely gone.

I've used this technique for 15 years. I also use the cheapo paper gaskets with a bead of UltraCopper and have never had leaking headers, ever.

Ditto on all that, except I use a machinist's file on my flanges. And my cheapo gaskets with hi-temp RTV don't leak either.
