Help with Fog Lamp Installation

I'm in the process of re-wiring my 65 conv. with all new 66 wiring from "Mr. Mustang"(putting all GT options on it). I'm having trouble in placing the 10 amp fog lamp circuit breaker under the dash. Does anyone know exactly where it should go and what wires are hooked to it. The wiring diagram shows a blue/black on one side and a black/yellow (batt) on the other. My conversion kit didn't have a seperate black/yellow wire to go to the solinoid. Is there suppose to be one coming out of the main bundle? Also, I have two blue/black wires. One coming from the fog lamp switch and another double one coming out of the main bundle about in the middle of the firewall. Do both of these get hooked to one side of the circuit breaker? One last thing. Where does the grey wire with the firewall plug on it enter thru the firewall? I'm sure I have to drill a hole in the firewall but don't know exactly where it goes (over the main firewall connection for the lights?) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Brad

I'm not that familiar with the repro wiring, but if memory serves me correct, there were 2 gray wires going to the breaker, which is usually mounted on the wiper motor bracket.

There should be a plug into the main harness for the fog lights. Then there should just be wires running to the engine bay which are in sequence with the lights. The additional wire from the lights clips into ground leads.

If you have a shop manual, it should have some wiring schematics.

Perkys65: I'm not sure about the 65,but what you describe sounds like what I have found on my 66. I
have a blue wire with a black stripe that breaks-out of the main harness, and that wire goes to one side of the fog lamp circuit breaker that is mounted to the wiper motor support. That wire is the power source for the fog lamp circuit. The other blue wire with the black stripe, from the fog lamp switch, goes to the other side of the fog lamp circuit breaker. Reference the Osborn electrical assembly manual for 1966 page 43.

As far as the location for where the fog lamp wire
goes through the firewall, you will find a dimple
in the firewall just below where the main headlight harness goes through the firewall. The
Osborn manual makes reference to .437 inch hole
at this location. The dimple is easiest to find
from the engine compartment.
Reference Osborn electrical assembly manual for 1966, page 43, ball note number 18.

Again this is all for a 66, I know there are some differences in the wiring for a 65, but as far as the fog lamp circuit goes, they may be similar or the same. I do believe that the 65 fog lamp
harness is wrapped with the main headlight harness
in the engine compartment, while the 66 is not.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Hope this helps: John

John, What you have described is what I have. I have put all new 66 wiring harnesses in my 65 so the 66 set-up is what I have. Do you remember if the blue/black wire coming from the main harness is a double blue/black wire with an eye connector? I believe that is what I have. I also have the blue black wire coming from the fog lamp switch. Also, are the osborne electrical manuals on any web site for free viewing? Thanks, Brad

Brad: My wiring harness is presently out of my car,
and after having looked at, I have a single blue
wire with a black stripe with an eye connector at the end. That connector is what attaches to the circuit breaker. I don't know why you have two wires to the connector , except the after market wire makers decided to power something else with the wire.

As far as the Osborn manuals being available on-line, I have never seen them available for viewing. Most of the big mustang supply places have them available for sale. And I've seen them
on web auction sites.
