How to adjust hydraulic clutch from Modern Driveline??

I have a T5 with a hydraulic clutch linkage from Modern Driveline in my 67. I had it parked for a few months and a few days ago I started it up and took it for a drive around the block. It ran fine but when I got back and was pulling it into the garage, I had put it in neutral and when I went to shift it into gear it wouldn't go. It eventually did shift into gear after I pushed the pedal as far down to the floor as it would go. I haven't tried since.

Any idea what is causing this? I'm hoping I just need to adjust the hydraulic clutch linkage. I had it installed about 7 years ago and haven't had any issues with it until now. I checked on their website but the details to adjust it are pretty vague. Can someone walk me through the process?

I just did mine a couple of days ago.

Do you have the external slave? I have the instructions and can PM them to you.

Adjustment is pretty easy if you have the external slave.

Just push the slave piston all the way back in the bore, at the same time push the fork up against pressure plate, and remove any lash between the conical nut and the fork with your fingers then tighten down the jam nut with a wrench.

If it's not too much trouble, could you PM them to me? I bought a used MDL setup with external slave and sent an email to MDL to get instructions along with a couple of questions almost a week ago and they haven't responded.

There are a couple of videos on YouTube where the "knee-action" linkage on the MD master cylinder set-up bends from side to side, instead of actuating the master cylinder.

It looks like it might be a design flaw, and one of the guys on YouTube actually ended up welding a guide on his to make sure the linkage can't move side to side.

Check to make sure that your master cylinder is being actuated when you press your pedal....like this.

That video shows the clutch pedal moving side to side, which it shouldn't. He needs a Scott Drake or Mustang Steve bearing kit.

The pedal moves to the side causing the linkage to go crooked.

I have the MDL set up and works fine

I think you are on to something. I've had mine in for a while now too and it works beautifully. But, then again I also have a rollerized pedal assembly. So that might be the difference.

I had a similar problem to that shown in the video (although I have roller bearings in my clutch linkage and no side-to-side movement in the pedal). In my case, the root of the problem was that the rod from the clutch pedal was putting a side load on the other components attached to the firewall (see picture). Over time, the side load wore out the bearings in the MDL components and even caused the master cylinder to start leaking a bit into the passenger compartment. I contacted MDL and they sent me their latest design that provides an adjustment so the rod no longer puts a side load on the components (in the comments below the video Bruce mentions the upgraded parts). So far, the new system is working well.
