I also watched the origial shows and got the bejesus scared out of me a few times too. I know he drove an early model but can't recall if it was a coupe or convt or the color, (so basicially I'm no help).

Something I have noticed long ago. Back in the 70's after the original night stalker was cancelled , there was another show ( cant remember the name) but one of the female stars drove a spring time yellow 1966 convertible, then there was a spring time yellow 1966 convertible on Bev Hills 90210. I wondered if these were all the same car that was owned by a production company.

I think that Kolchak was the series that really started the X files.
The new series features an '05 which has already gotten a bit of exposure, running over some kind of wolfen creature and killing it.
