Howdy all.

We will hold our first ever Mustang cookout on Sunday, September 22, 2002 at
3:00 PM. This will be our last outdoor meeting of the year.

Due to popular demand - the location will be Busse Woods forest preserve
on Golf road in Schaumburg.

Specifically - the entrance to the forest preserve is just east of 53/290 on the
south side of Golf road. The sign at the entrance may say Busse Woods or
Ned Brown Forest Preserve (they never seem to make up their mind what to call it)

If I remember correctly, there are a few picnic areas and parking lots inside that
entrance. I do not think we will run into any other groups large enough to keep us
from setting up somewhere. I'm sure we will all find each other. I will try to show
up a little early to grab a spot.

As for food? I would like to ask everyone to bring something to share if they can,
and also bring your own drinks. There will probably be some place to grill out, but
it might be a good idea to bring a small portable grill or 2 just in case.

If you decide what you are bringing - please post it here so we can all keep track.

Hope to see you all there!

Over 6 years ago when my stang was running, that was one place I remember going too for a big ol bbq party. Since the stang is FINALLY on the road and seems to be running good (knock on wood), I think I'll have to try to make a meeting for once!!

I'll have to miss the picnic as I plan on being in Dwight as well (it's only 20 minutes from me). And yes, the best shows aren't in the burbs!! If you are showing your car let me know what it is and maybe we can park near each other. Otherwise, I'll have my dark red fastback with LINKE65 on the plates so look me up. Hope to see you there.

OK now I see were going to have to start debating the burb shows...... considering south of 55 belongs to Kentucky (remember we let them keep that in the cival war), I don't think there's much of an argument, tractor is not a class category. hahahaha JK

Sunday 9/8 is the Kane county show at the fairgrounds, but I'll be in my cutlass - trying to sell it to get another stang :)

Howdy all.

Just to update the food situation for this coming Sunday the 22nd...

I think everyone should bring the basics for themselves to have a simple
cookout-type meal. Bring something to cook on the BBQ, bring some drinks, and
maybe a snack. I will also suggest that everyone bring one thing to share with
everyone else. But just like everything else in the club, nothing is required!

Gene is bringing a BBQ, so that should get a workout. If anyone else has a small
one to bring, go ahead. I will bring some charcoal and lighter fluid in case there is
an extra public cooking pit there (Ill bet there is...)

I think this plan will work better than trying to coordinate different parts of the
meal among the club members...

I just hope the weather cooperates, and we have a good turnout!

Looking forward to it...
