Used to hang out there durring high school and a couple of years thereafter. Used to be a big musclecar hangout. Not sure what it is like now...ahh those were the days..

I will be there with my wife. We don't know what we will be bringing though.

 

Over 6 years ago when my stang was running, that was one place I remember going too for a big ol bbq party. Since the stang is FINALLY on the road and seems to be running good (knock on wood), I think I'll have to try to make a meeting for once!!

 

I can bring a grill. It isnt huge tho nd we may need a few more. Who is on the food commitee???

We will need a head count to make this work!!!!

 

Unfortunately, there's a big car show in Dwight, IL that day and I'm going with a big group to that.

Is there really a place in Il called dwight? and why would someone want to go there I've got a small gas grill, but the thing is convincing the wife.

 

Yes, believe it or not there is life South of Chicago. In fact, I think if I were to add up the numbers, we probably have more car shows down south!

Actually, the Dwight show is rather large and pulls cars from all over. Its usually in excess of 400 cars.

I'll have to miss the picnic as I plan on being in Dwight as well (it's only 20 minutes from me). And yes, the best shows aren't in the burbs!! OK now I see were going to have to start debating the burb shows...... considering south of 55 belongs to Kentucky (remember we let them keep that in the cival war), I don't think there's much of an argument, tractor is not a class category. hahahaha JK

Sunday 9/8 is the Kane county show at the fairgrounds, but I'll be in my cutlass - trying to sell it to get another stang

I will bring a few big bags of misc chips. I look forward to meeting everyone that can make it. I was unable to go to our last meet so I will make this one for sure.

Howdy all.

Just to update the food situation for this coming Sunday the 22nd...

I think everyone should bring the basics for themselves to have a simple
cookout-type meal. Bring something to cook on the BBQ, bring some drinks, and
maybe a snack. I will also suggest that everyone bring one thing to share with
everyone else. But just like everything else in the club, nothing is required!

Gene is bringing a BBQ, so that should get a workout. If anyone else has a small
one to bring, go ahead. I will bring some charcoal and lighter fluid in case there is
an extra public cooking pit there (Ill bet there is...)

I think this plan will work better than trying to coordinate different parts of the
meal among the club members...

I just hope the weather cooperates, and we have a good turnout!

3 is a good time since Bloomingdale is having a carshow at the McDonalds on lake and bloomingdale/roselle. I think it's their toys for tots one again but not positive. HanoverPark is having one on Saturday.

 

Alas, again I will be working....

I just found this area today and I've been on here for a year. I can't make it this year but next year the Shell B will be on the road. See y'all next year.

BTW... Fall Jefferson is the weekend of Sept. 28th. and 29th.
