Hello all, just introducing myself as a new member. Last week I bought a 1964.5 Coupe and am very happy with it. New to Mustangs and old cars in general. Had an F-body Z28 that I loved but got rear-ended on the way home from work about a year ago. I was looking for another LS1 Camaro and came across this Mustang and figured I'd give it a shot.
Tons of good information on this site, I've been using the "search" feature with success. I look forward to learning more about these Mustangs and cars in general as I've never done anything more involved than change brakes, fluids, filters, etc... on cars before.
I plan on driving this thing as much as possible and enjoying it. A couple of things I know (or have been told by PO) that have been changed on the car:
-289 bored .30 over with a cam
-T-5 swapped in
-New Eibach suspension
-Front Disc brakes
-Front Seats

I'm going to attempt some pictures here, if they don't work I apologize.

Welcome to VMF. Nice looking car. I also have a 64.5 Coupe. Original 289 5 bolt motor bored .040, Speed Pro Hyperthueretic flat top pistons, mild Crane Cam, Edlebrock 289 Performer intake, Autolite 4100 Carb. Have all the parts to upgrade to a T5. Do you know what rear end gear ratio you have? I have the 3.00:1 rear. I'm just wondering how the car will behave after the T5 swap if I don't go to a lower gear ratio?

Is your engine the original 5 bolt block motor?

Not sure if it is the original motor or not as PO wasnt sure. Also didnt know what the rear gear was, he guessed 4.10. After using a calculator and inputting at 4th gear in my T5 -rpm/speed/tire size it spits out 3.17 gear ratio. So I'm not sure what it really is other than low 3's. I like how it drives though, nice pickup and good on the interstate, about 2000 RPM at 70 in 5th gear. Hope that helps.
