Finally, after 14 years of rolling around with this flame job in place, My 12 year old daughter Jade and I jumped into the deep end, prepping, taping and striping this thing. I thought for years I would do the outline in red or maybe black just to fix some edges, but after living with it for so long, I think we found the perfect color. 1-shot Blue Green. But of course, we're calling it Jade green.

I'm so proud of her patience and talent. This is the kind of bonding you wish for. She's revised her Christmas wish list to include a Mack 00 brush and some other colors to practice with. :grin2:

It's got smudges and stuff on it from our work, but I buffed it before we started. I'll get some good outdoor pics ASAP.

Well done, two thumbs up to both of you! [emoji106][emoji106]. Dad ,for having the confidence to let her stripe the classic car... and Jade, for having the initiative and the talent to get the job done. Y’all should be on the front cover of a DIY magazine! Car and paint look terrific!

This is completely awesome, in every way everyone else has said. Hey Jade, if you don't know who Scratch is, look up his work. Watch some of his videos, etc, etc. I was lucky enough to meet him at a show about 10 years ago and had him do a small piece for me. He painted my son's name on an old truck door, along with some fun line work. It took him 10 minutes, and I paid him $100. There aren't very many careers you can get into that will pay you $600 an hour, and you may have the skills to do just that! Dad, this goes without saying I'm sure, but keep feeding her passions, whatever they are. It's awesome that you have such a driven and talented daughter.

Yes! I got to meet him around the same time at the Lonestar Roundup in Austin. Super cool guy. He’s from Fort Worth too. Thanks for the reminder. That’ll be good inspiration.

Wow, she did a outstanding job! Do what you can to support her art! My friend in SC knows someone who bounced around from job to job, not really good at any of them. One day my friend this guy got a hair brained scheme to pinstripe. I don't believe the guy had any background in it but guess what, he had a talent for it and is making a killing. My daughter is pretty talented and has gotten requests for tattoo designs. Probably due to college parties, lol.
Beautiful! I studied painting in college before shifting my major to graphic design. She has a good eye, so if she wanted to go that way, the rest is just about practice and passion.

Thanks again you guys, for all the encouraging things. I’ve shown her this thread, and the smile on that sweet face... my heart sings.
