Quick Question

I have a 68 Coupe I'm working on. I bought it with the floor pans cut out, firewall extenders as well. The previous owner left in the transmission tunnel. I have taken out the front suspension and left the rear in. The front end is sitting on jack stands.

My question is, is it ok for it to be sitting like that until i get the floor pans in?

Any help much appreciated.

i think gypsyr is right, you should be ok. my suggestion would be though to hang the doors, and get the door gaps as close to right as possible, then weld in some bracing to prevent the body from sagging before you install the floor pans, just as an added safety precaution. that way when the new floor pans go in, they will be as close to perfect as possible and you wont have to fight the door gaps later on.

Without seeing pictures it sounds like it will be OK to me. Most of the lower structural support is actually centered around the rockers and torque boxes.
