Run wires under the carpet?

I’m using 1990 Fox body seats and installed seat heaters. So I need to run wires for the heaters and the lumbar support.

Would you run those through the channel above the rocker (and drill holes though the rocker and side of the floor to feed them to the seats) or under the carpet?

If under the carpet, how you you keep them from moving around? I’ve got lizard skin on the floor, so I don’t think tape will hold. I could probably use some small wire clamps and rivet those to the floor…just not sure what’s best.

Under carpet is fine. Ford did for wire to shifter light. I would place the wire next to rocker or at the bottom of the trans tunnel. It is not going to move around unless someone pulls on it. I would not drill holes in the floor pan to anchor it. If you wanted to anchor it to the seat pan that would be okay.

I actually ran my wires through a small conduit that runs right along the transmission tunnel. The idea was in case I want to snake some more wires to the back at some day for speakers or something. You can't tell it's there with the carpet.
