I bought a brand new synco T5 from GForce with all of their tricks. I'm about an hour from them. So this is all in person.

When picking it up I saw that the speedo gear was missing. Honest mistake. They handed me a speedo gear (it was closing time) and I said I would install it. When installing it I saw that the Gforce gear cluster had grinding marks on the tooth faces in spots.

So I brought it back and they replaced the gear cluster.

I drove it for about 200 miles and found it to have several issues. It leaked at the input end. It was noisy in 5th (it shouldn't be - they should be noisy in 1-3). It popped out of some gears.

Back to GForce again. This time they told me that it was because the bellhousing wasn't indexed. They rebuilt it. I hadn't checked the bell housing (it was an OEM bell and I'd never need a stock bell be out).

So I bought a new OEM bellhousing (and built a new motor - different issues). Then indexed the bell housing. It's within spec. Checked concentricity and parallelism.

Now it's popping out of 1st on decell. Any thoughts on why? I'm thinking maybe it's time to stop asking GForce to get a T5 right. They don't seem to be capable of it.

I have a used t5 out of 1995 mustang..I just slapped it into my car. No rebuild and definitely no indexing of the stock V6 bellbouse that I am running. The only gear that is noisy is reverse. And I have never had the transmission come out of gear. Definitely sounds like GForce is not putting out a quality product.

Certainly sounds like requesting a refund and sourcing another T5 is the next step.

I have a T5 and a stock fox bell housing. I've put over 30k miles on it and it did have a few miles on it when I got it. It never popped out of gear or made noise in any gear but reverse. Also I never indexed anything.

Long time local Gforce customer here. Take the car to Gforce and have Mike Long (or better yet Leonard, his dad) drive the car. They absolutely have all the resources and abilities in the shop to make it right (as it should have been from the get go) and have serviced thousands of T5's over the years.

Sounds like it's not a simple fix, but just in case: What shifter are you using? Does it have adjustable positive stops? If so try backing out the stop to make sure the lever is getting full travel to engage the gear, then see if it still pops out of gear. Sorry to hear about your trouble...GForce is high on my list for a future HD T5 when/if my current T5 dies.

Thanks Guys. I will see about taking the whole car up to GForce when the motor has a few more miles on it (right now it's still very fresh at about 20 miles).

It has a Steeda shifter (the one GForce provides). I adjusted the stops on it before I brought it back to them last time. I think they're still right. You can feel that it has a tiny amount of travel left when it's sitting in 1st.

I may also take it to Hanlon to let them have a go at it. GForce has had their three strikes.

GForce just called. They're going to replace the whole gearbox. Despite the issues I've had, they've been great about sticking with it and standing behind their stuff.

The down time is no big deal since I just found that my Aeromotive tank (brand new) is leaking from the top plate where the in tank pump is mounted/installed. Ugh. I've asked Aeromotive to just replace the tank. This is the third issue with it. The other two were both bad level senders.

Aeromotive stepped up too and sent me a new tank.

I don't mind issues as long as the vendor stands behind their stuff. Everyone has issues. Not everyone deals with it well.

Both GForce and Aeromotive are first rate.

Since it was used, I don't think that it can be shipped. I can't see how you've ever make it safe to ship.

The leak issue was at the billet plate on top of the tank. All of the bolts are tight, so I'm guessing it's a gasket issue.

I had to send an Aeromotive Stealth II tank back to them for a bad fuel level sender. There was no issue shipping the used tank. Aeromotive sent me a used bench test tank to run until the parts to repair my tank became available. When my tank was completed, they shipped it and had me keep the bench test calibration tank rather than pay for the shipping. That's customer service!
BTW - I gave the spare tank to another VMF member!
