So, temp gauge was not working in my cluster. 65/289. I replaced the stock cluster with a cluster from a 65 GT. Followed the nice walkthrough on that conversion and behold everything works but the temp gauge. As I said before temp gauge was not working on the old unit. So, checked wiring, everything looked good. I replaced the temp sending unit and now when I turn the key the temp gauge pegs out all the way to the right. Seems to me like a ground issue or perhaps the connection from the temp gauge to the cvu is not good? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Pegging temp gauge under ACC conditions indicates a ground somewhere between the gauge and the sending unit. Could be a pinched wire in the harness, or an exposed piece of wire on the manifold, or something else.
