lamps plus has a sale on 4' track lighting units with 50 watt low voltage bulbs. Was considering this for the new work bench (6' length) in garage and might be able to rotate lights to light up engine compartments? Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or experience with this ? Thanks, Jeff

No, but it sounds pretty slick. A couple things I've gotten recently that I really like is the bench grinder that Harbor Freight had on sale a couple weeks ago. It has a light that can on it that can twist all around and point in any direction. The other thing is a halogen light that sits on the floor ... excellent for working underneath the car! Be careful of the heat from Halogen lights, though ... last weekend working on my daughter's car, I didn't realize that my air hose was too close to the light until it melted through and the air started blowing out of the hose ... scared the begeesus out of me, because I thought a tire had somehow sprung a leak while it was up on jackstands! *LOL*

i personally find spot type lights too glaring. i used 4 ft 2-bulb (cold ambient outpput type) on both sides of car, with one over bench and a bench moveable for close work. also use 300 W Halogen for work in engine compartment and under car. MHO.
