trying to return some faulty high low beam headlamps on my 69. The customer service rep told me that all 4 lights should never burn at once. Low beam ,the outsides come on and on hi beam the two inside burn only. Am I missing something here? I don't have a lot of experience but wow.

And CJ told me that 66 Mustangs used oxygen sensors. Yes, all 4 heads should come on when you put the high beams on. The outer bulbs have 2 filaments, a low and high. When you put the high beams on the lower beam is disconnect and the high beam filament is energized along with the two inner high beam only lamps. And no, 66 Mustangs do not use oxygen sensors no matter what they tell you.

Ok , Did I do this right? To check with ohm meter I touched one wire to Ground Prong on left side. Checking to other two I had continuity on right prong but nothing on the top.... So I assume that the low beam filament is out correct?
Thankyou for the response.
There should be continuity between Ground and Low and Ground and High. No continuity between High and Low.

Makes you wonder where they are getting their service reps. What does he think the dual filaments in the low beam lamps are for?

I surprised an inspector at Motor Vehicles during an inspection of my old 69 when he asked me to turn on my high beams without the inner bulbs being installed and the outer lights got brighter. Yes, on a 69, all four bulbs should be lit when your high beams are on. It pretty much should be that way on any car with 5 1/4" quad headlights.

I'm pretty sure however, that fog lamps are supposed to be disabled when your high beams are on, at least in NJ.
