I going to take out my package tray and redo the speaker set up and I really need to put a pad under it to stop the rattles. What have you guys used?

Also, has anybody done an asthetically pleasing treatment to the tops of the panels where the lip sits on top of the package tray?

Lemmeknow!

Bob - I often thought the same thing ! I'd guess that it would not be too hard to cut some sheet metal to fit under the package tray, and tack weld it in place.....

Certainly would be safer and more durable than the original particleboard.....But then no rear speakers ! Dickson

I used Dynamat all the way across. I was never fond of the "painted board" look, so I used some carpet-like acoustic material to cover it. I drilled a couple hundred little holes for the speakers to breathe through and it's worked out real well. As you can see I have two extra fitting issues.

I still have the original plastic pieces for the quarter trim. They're warped and crummy looking. I was think maybe some sort of universal edging material, trimmed to fit. I'm sure someone's come up with something that looks good. I'm interested too.

Here's somthing I was wondering. They make the steel barrier panels to go behind the seat back, to protect the interior of the car from gas in case of a rear-end collision. But what stops fuel from blowing through the package tray? I was thinking of fabricating a steel panel in the shape of the tray to install underneath the cardboard tray. Anyone else done this?
