I have searched the archives but found no conclusive answer. I have a 66 6 cylinder that I want to change over to a 5 bolt front and rear. There is plenty on info on the front but I found little on the rear. I know a Lincoln Versaille works, can anyone tell me what other rearends disc or drum will fit with little or no fabrication...thanks Scott

If you want easy there are alot of people who will sell you the rear end you need for that car as far as I know the only ones that fit without fabrication work are 65/66 mustang and falcons and comets of the same years good luck if you can't find one i know of a couple in my area. ::

Versailles, Monarch & Granada 8 & 9", but they are a couple inches wider in overall length so fender clearance is tight. Don't know the measurements on Maverick & Comet tho. '55-57 Full Size 9" is a direct bolt-in too, same overall length and spring perch locations.

A 65-66 8" rear is a direct bolt in and they are relatively plentiful. I think finding one should pose no prob but if it does the '67-'70 Mustang/Cougar 8" rear is a bolt in also, it's just an inch wider on each side than the 66 rear so your new 5 lug rims will need more backspace on the rear than in front.
