Only after market blocks came with the 4 bolt main Windsor blocks.

Some 351 Cleveland's had 4 bolt mains.

 

There were some 4 bolt mains in production. I don’t know where mine came from (I bought it at a gas station on a crate pulled from another Stang back in 80) It had C90E heads on it.

 

Above correct you can however buy these Milodon Main Caps
and have your block machined to turn it into a 4 bolt main

 

zero W's came from the ford factory with 4 bolt mains. only ford racing blocks come with 4 bolt mains and the sportsman blocks have 2 bolt. also most ford racing 4 bolt blocks have cleveland size mains on a W style crank. some older 4 bolt racing blocks had 4 bolt with W size mains.

 

Do not buy the Milodon caps. This is what I got instead........

The Milodon caps are hard to line bore and hone according to my machinest.

 

Actually, ProGram makes Milodon's main caps too.

just use a '74 block or earlier and you will be good. The amount of matieral you are removing from the main webbing to convert to a 4 bolt main almost offsets the benefit.

 

Unless you are looking at making some very serious hp and turning extremely high rpms there is no need for 4-bolt mains or an aftermarket block. Factory 351w blocks can handle 700-800hp. If you are worried about cap walk you can use a main stud girdle for extra insurance.

They don't advertise it. Unless it's changed in the last two years they made the conversion caps for milodon, moroso, etc.

 

And I forgot, I turn 7,000 rpm with it.

however, you CAN put four bolt main caps on a 351w block using this kit from summit racing;

2020, you're thinking of Clevelands. Ford didn't make 351W blocks with 4 bolt mains. Not that we wouldn't like to have one, but unless you get an aftermarket block, or aftermarket caps and machine them in. LSG
