Is it me?

I hear you guys all the time talking about lowered mustangs with big rims..

I must have 70's blood in me.. Lowered front, lifted back (only slightly) with 15" max rims... Now thats what Im talking about................................................

If the stance was fixed / lowered & the wheels were tucked further into the wheel wells, it would look good.

I am a true pro-street look guy - the skinnies in the front with the meats in the back... but even I am leaning towards 17" now on my fastback since it is painted... :loco:

Times change I guess...

+1 for the pimp my ride look! It's got to go. What are people thinking maybe they got a good deal on a five finger discount and said hey those will look great on my mustang or maybe I should have put them on my SUV you think. All in all do what you want if you like then go for it if you don't hey complain about it on your favorite forum like me ;) :pirate:

I really like 15" rims, but I had to go 17" to clear brakes. That picture reminds me of a 67 cougar I was looking at buying and it had some hideous 22" wheels. They were way too big and the tires were shredded from rubbing.

A Mustang should never be turned into a Donk.

I hear you on this one. I have never really liked the looks of the classics with big rims. To me they just don't look period correct.

+1, Anything bigger than 15" on a classic looks out of place to me. Chip Foose always does a beautiful job on all the cars on Overhaulin until he gets to the rims.

Cars like that look like Hot Wheels cars.IMO

Looks like ass.

The reason, to me, is not the size of the wheels. It's the fact that it has a 4x4 suspension, and it doesn't have any tires. People, YOU NEED TIRES!

+1 on needing tires.
I saw an Altima in the Autozone parking lot the other night with 20's, and about 1" of tire. The rims look like he rode them with no tires at all. Not enough tire for the potholes :pirate:

I think the suspension is the biggest problem. I also think 20's are too big for a mustang. But, to the people saying they don't like anything bigger than 15's need to remember the brown 67 that everyone drools over every time it is posted. It has at least 17's. If the car stands correct and the wheels compliment the car 17-18's are fine with me. I have seen some 15's that horrible too. It all needs to be fit (wheel choice, stance, size, backspace, etc.) to look right.

I'm an old school guy as well.I like to see less rim and more Tire.On a classic I think 15" is the max,I have seen some 16" that can be pulled off,but they are rare. To me nothing ruins the looks of a classic more than oversize rims and rubber band tires.Additionally in terms of ride height I like a little rake myself. But I am ok with a car that sits level all around. Not a huge fan of lowered cars, especially on the street,it's something to do with,Exhausts, oil pans, etc. and
speedbumps.

The size of the wheel doesn't matter to me, but whatever you put on, make it look right.
Tuck them in and drop it a bit, it would look wayyyy better.

Do I like it as it sits....Nope!
