09C car found, serial 100211, The earliest 09c car,1964.5 mustang

Ladies and gentlemen, we have found what is to believed to be Mustang 100211. The date code is 09c, I am awaiting confirmation and I believe we can put together yet another piece of the puzzle for early Mustangs. I received emails confirming the find and I am awaiting pictures and more details. The person that owns the car has had it since 1986, and is taking pictures of the car this weekend and they are probably looking at making it nice again. I knew more of these early cars were going to turn up. I will return with more details soon. Chuck

ps the date code is 09c !!!!!!

This has nothing to do with and 05 C Mustang... also this car has to be verified as their is only 3 people that can verify that the car is real. Their is alot to the early cars and all the differences have to be present and are very hard to fake

He meant to say that only three people care enough to argue about it. Personally, I'd do a V8 conversion on it. Maybe an Eleanor or a "tribute" copy of the Sonny Bono Mustang.

I don't really care about the car itself. I do however, tend to get excited that more pieces of "The early mustang puzzle" MAY get to be put in place, so that each of us may have more knowledge about our Mustang's histories.

I want to make myself clear...The initial post states "We have found what is BELIEVED to be mustang 100211".....First, I was informed of this exciting finding and thought I would share the news with others whom would also be thrilled to learn that another piece of history. This claim is in the process of being verified. I have no other reason to make this post than to share an exciting development in the Mustang world. Second, the "people" that are qualified to verify this finding are in the process of doing so. I believe that the Mustang community, itself, has a sound method of choosing the people who are qualified to determine whether or not a claim is authentic. Which is why I have forwarded information to them. These people hold credentials and are not self determined experts. Below is an e-mail that was sent to me earlier today that I wish to share...Although a disclaimer stating the e-mail is "privileged" and "confidential" is made at the bottom of the e-mail, it is within my discretion to share it with others as I have no personal, confidential or privileged relationship with the sender. If I do have an agreement in writing, please copy it to this post showing my signature. As it has been sent to me.... and since I have no duty to confide this information I am posting. it Furthermore, any future correspondence with me, likewise, will be posted to the forum as well. >>>>Here it folks--->

Chuck Carter,

This is an email to put you on notice to refrain from making anymore posts about a potential Mustang, #211, until you have it proved 100%. You have slandered my asset, Mustang #212 by what you have posted on vintage-mustang.com by making a claim that this car, #211, may or may not exist.

We have information that contradicts that any such vin # that you refer to exists. I would advise you to discuss this matter with your attorney as quickly as possible as we will move aggressively to protect our asset.

In order for this car to be documented, it must be examined by Nate Miller of Buckeye Auto Restoration to be verified as real.

Tony Begley

If their information is part of the non-discloser what does that say about the other 500+ differences in 05C, 09C and 10C cars.

I love this hobby but letters like that I think are nuts.I also don't like the things done by Bob (can't think his last name)to try to prove his car was the first car built. It is great if this car is found. But geuss what it is a car.I have been threatened by people in the hobby to keep my mouth shut about certain specifs of cars because that would affect the value of the car a persons reputation. This is meant to be a fun hobby.

This is way cool that these early cars are popping up! Piecing together Mustangs early history is really interesting. Pretty neat that somebody's old grocery getter they bought in 86 for a few bucks could be one of the first.

But I'm a bit confused... How much verification is necessary for a proper VIN id? Something tells me that there must be more than 3 people on the planet that can tell if it's a legit VIN. I've read that 212 has a heap of documentation, but nonetheless, how can early VIN info be proprietary to the restorers of 212?

Also, wasn't all the hoopla about 212 that it was sold on the April 16th? It was apparently the very first retail delivery, making it "worth" crazy money now, right?

If that's true and documented, how then, is 211 any kind of threat or slander to 212?

Wow, what a nice guy Mr. Begley appears to be in taking such a keen interest in someone else's car. It has been a while since I was in law school, but I think he needs to get a grip (and potentially a better attorney) if (1) he thinks that communication is confidential merely because he says so and (2) he thinks any of the positions in that communication have any merit.

Oh, and I'm not your attorney. You may not rely on anything in this post as being legal advice. LOL!

+1. Can one slander (or libel) an asset? If it's in writing it should be considered libel, but I don't think inanimate objects can bring suit...

Thanks weasel_atty, I am glad someone on here went to law school.
I have an arsenal of attorneys at my disposal who all laughed pretty loudly about this....

hmmm, I just re-read the email for the second time and saw "You have slandered my asset".
I didn't go to law school, but I am surprised that someone's attorney made it past first year. Someone's attorney might want to go back to law school and take torts 101. Isn't slander spoken and libel written? duh?

Who cares when it was sold? Mine was also sold April 16th, so does that mean mine is worth a mil?
