Back around 89-90, I helped my buddy “Beast” change spark plugs on his Mustang II.

I could not believe how the 302 got stuffed in there. I had an 84 Cougar with a 5.0L at the time.

It was definitely a fun car to ride in…even being responsibly driven.

It still brings a smile to my face when I think about it.

It was a weathered looking car but it ran great.

Last year, I was looking at a Pinto wagon for sale and thought about the Mustang II again.

Have fun!

The tan interior looks great with a black exterior IMHO. Yours appears to be a A/C car.

I owned an orange 1977 Mach 1. Black interior with the 302 and SROD. Stone stock It was a nice driving car.

Now owning a highly modified mustang II with 1995 cobra 5.0 and T-5. If I am being honest. I almost prefer the stocker for cruising around.

I do plan to buy it. I'm just away from home at the moment and wanted to check in with my VMF family while I had some down time and get a reading on the pulse for this car.
I've recently had opportunities to buy a 66 blue Sprint 200 car that I convinced the owner to hold a little longer (his grandson now jumped at the chance to own when given) and a 65 Tropical Turquoise I-6 AC car that a co-worker's grandfather bought new that I'm still considering. I just don't know where to put them while I maybe tinker on them to make them safe and reliable before adopting them out to excellent permanent homes.
I love these old cars and preserving their heritage or stoking the fires of vintage racing glory is satisfying.

The MII can look pretty nice when you clean them up:

Looking forward to your first and subsequent posts with it! :)

I have an opportunity to buy a 1978 Mustang II with the Mach 1 package, 5.0L (302) V8, black with tan interior at an extremely good price, as in almost free. I have never owned one, and I know their interest is limited compared to the first generation, Fox, SN-95 and later Mustangs, but this thing is in incredibly good condition (I hate to use the word pristine because I haven't seen every part of it) and it has been stored in the same dry garage for more than 20 years. A retired professor owns it, can't or won't take it with him to his next home, and wants it to go to a good home. I can't adopt every stray, but I wonder among the VMF faithful how much interest is developing in these cars as the next generation comes along. I would basically buy the car and get everything up to date and seek out a new adoptive owner, perhaps a Mustang II lover or a movie compnay to love this car forever. Thanks for any input.
I'd jump on it. The M2's are becoming more popular and if you don't want to keep it "stock" the 302 it has responds to the same improvements any other 302 (or 289) will... They're fun to drive and there's no need to drop in a T-5 since you'll already have an overdrive gear and a usable 1st gear.

I must be old, no mentioned the girl is Farah Fawcet. Her posters were on every young man's wall in the late 70s.
I must be old as well because I assumed everyone knew who she was.

They’ve been known to be pretty quick, with a few mods….

When you say "a few mods", I assume you're referring to the stroker 460/C6/ narrowed 9" combo Wayne Gapp and Jack Roush stuffed in that car back in the 1970's? 😁

I do plan to buy it. I just don't know where to put them...
Looks like it's time to enclose that carport, and add on to the rear for car spots and a shop.
