Hey guys, I've been away from the mustang community for a while, my car has been sitting in the garage taking up space so I decided today to take it for a drive (after charging the battery). Long story short, the alternator was a rebuilt unit and after adding e-fans last year, I think the stress on the electrical system has led to the demise of my alternator.

My question is, what amperage should I look for? I believe the one on the car now is an 85 amp, so I'm thinking 100-120 amp. Also, are their any specific alternators I would need to fit on a 351 Cleveland motor? I know Fords are kinda tricky when it comes to finding the correct alternator, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

55 amps is plenty for a stock setup. Most of the over the counter ones are built to 55 amp specs. You only need more with a big time stereo amp, electric fan or HID headlights.

The PO mentioned he added e fans. My guess is if you have an 85 amp it should be good.
