Hi Everyone,

New to the site. Building a 67 coupe in my home garage. Need some help identifying a pin/button that is located on the interior firewall next to the wire harness exit plug and next to the steering column. Can anyone tell what this is for or if i need to keep it in place?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Pete

That "object" is a hanger for the interior side of the firewall insulation pad. Seems it has been torn out of this car
They make repops which don't exactly look like the original ones if this matters to you. Tough to find any in great shape that also are not torn up.

I agree. The stock padding in these cars has excellent properties for sound and heat protection. Install Dynamat if you wish, but you should still use all the stock pads that you can. When assembled stone-stock, these cars are very quiet inside.
